The 7th graders began their egg unit last week with classic scrambled eggs. 🥚 For this groups first time in the kitchen together, they worked really well together, and enjoyed their final products!
Last week, 9th and 10th grade biology students explored their carbon footprint and impact on the environment. They also researched and interacted with ways to reduce that impact, thanks to Black Hills Energy. Students were able to take home energy-saving kits and have the opportunity to use the items in their own homes. Thank you, Black Hills Energy!
Carli Lyon participated in the 15th Annual Iowa Youth Institute at Iowa State University as a “Norman Borlaug Scholar”!
Her paper to attend the event focused on climate change in South Sudan. She also presented her research to a group of students and industry experts that attended.
Participating in this event provided her a scholarship to Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The HS Boys track meet at Grundy Center has an updated time of running events starting at 4:30.
The home HS Boys and Girls golf meets have now moved the start time to 3:30. Boys will play in Wellsburg, girls will play in Ackley.

They escaped!!! Fifth grade SAIL made their own themed escape rooms with math problems. Fifth grade students got to try the rooms out to see if they could escape. Some made it out and others did not! Either way, everyone had fun solving math problems!
