I have been an educator since 2001 in several different school environments from rural Iowa to inner-city Cleveland. I started my career as a high school English teacher in Norwalk, Iowa. Next I served as a middle school counselor in the Johnston Community School District. Then I moved to Ohio and taught English again in Cleveland and then another urban setting--Lorain, Ohio. I earned my undergraduate degree in English and my Secondary Education training at Simpson College. I also have a master's degree in Secondary School Counseling from Drake University. Although I have learned so much from my variety of experiences with all kinds of schools and all kinds of students, I am glad to be back in my home state and working here at AGWSR. I can't wait to help teachers and students find strategies to be more successful in the classroom in my new position!
